I am from San Diego, California… Not quite the t-shirt weather of Waikiki, but t-shirt weather nonetheless. That’s one of the most popular advertising tricks around here. I know people that had t-shirt designs before they had a company. I guess if the t-shirts sell, you don’t need the business behind it! As to the wacky tourist shirts, when I was at USC I bought all my shirts from Chinatown, 5 for $10, they all said california or los angeles or something like that. great designs and for $2 each you could just throw them away after a few wears.
